Patterns in the colours of spring

Having finally made peace with my Passap Duomatic 80 knitting machine and discovering the wonderful pattern that I used for my last design I became a bit preoccupied with the endless opportunities that I saw in this pattern. I could imagine making cardigans, sweaters, blankets and shawls in this pattern in all sorts of colours, diffuse earthy tones or bright illuminating colours.

I am quite sure that this is a pattern that I will come back to again and again.

I have always been fond of bright colours, bright blue and green are the colours of early spring at the seaside, the grass is turning green and the leaves are unfolding on the trees against the bright blue skyes and the calm ocean.

As I had some 2 ply cotton from Yeoman yarn available in wonderful jeans and green colours I decided to make myself a short sleeveless cotton summer dress, knitted with the same pattern as the blanket in my last blog, which is described in the instruction book for the Passap Duomatic 80 (page 69).
