Middle of march

With spring in the air I think of easter and all things yellow. Having lived in Norway for several years at one time in my life I also think of skiing and the warm and cosy colourful sweaters that I always associate with Norwegian knitting culture. I made myself one with wonderful yellow pattern from one of Sandnes garn free designs. For those who can reed Norwegian there are a lot of designs and patterns at their website and a lot of them are also designed for Knitax knitting machines, including the one that I made "Lyngneskoften" . That one being made from their pattern I will not be adding to my database here, however it can bee seen on my Instagram account Knitting_with_Lisa.

This little sweater on the other hand, decorated with hens and chicken is inspired by the Norwegian knitting culture. It is perfect for a little friend of mine who loves animals and will be superb for easter with bright and cold days of early spring.

The patterns are as before inspired by the patterns from the wonderful Icelandic pattern book, Sjónabók

The yarn is Sandnes garn Sisu and some of the pattern colours are some rests that I had of Sandnes garn Babyull Lanett .

Design: Easter sweater

A small sweater decorated with hens and chicks. Knit the back and front pieces and sleeves. Knit together one shoulder. Knit the neckband, 18 rows rib over the 86 stitches. Knit together the second shoulder. I used a Hague linker to sow the sleeves to the back and front and then the sides of the sweater and sleeves together.
