Rose buds and flowers

Springtime front blog
Posting every fortnight is becoming a bit more difficult as my other hobby, gardening takes up more of my time, it has been three weeks since I posted my last design on the page. I hope it has been worth waiting for. This time I have found some wonderful flowers to inspire me.

I recall my grandmothers with all sorts of craft and very often flowers as motives. Perhaps my interest in flowers originates from them, inspiring me to make this springtime sweater. The basis for the pattern comes once again from the Sjonabok and is transferred into a yolk pattern for an Icelandic sweater. The yarn is the Icelandic Lopi Lite (Worsted weight yarn, 100 % wool). and it is knitted on the Bond USM knitting machine.

This sweater is a twist of the traditional Icelandic Lopi sweaters, made with a zipper and pockets in the front it becomes a bit more modern.
